MACEDON (ROMAN PROVINCE). Aesillas, quaestor, circa 95-70 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 16.84 g, 12 h), uncertain mint in Macedon, struck under L. Iulius Caesar, praetor, circa 70-65. CAE•PR•MAKEΔONΩN Head of Alexander the Great to right, with horn of Ammon over his ear; behind to left, Θ. Rev. AESILLA[S] / Q Money chest, club, and chair; all within laurel wreath. AMNG III/2, 7. Bauslaugh Group VII, O86. HGC 3.1, 1112. Rare and with lovely old collection toning. Minor marks and the reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, good very fine.

Ex Hess-Divo 341, 13 December 2023, 23 and previously from an old Swiss Collection started in the 19th century.
